This vintage Gucci wallet is new old stock, complete, with a serial number "BREV. 28828" (Impressed Mark), "GUCCI MADE IN ITALY" (Impressed Mark) & "Ges.gesch" impressed mark on the metal (SEE PHOTOGRAPHS). It also comes in its original red box.

"Ges. gesch" is an abbreviation for "Gesetzlich Geschützt," which is German for "legally protected." It was often used by German companies on their products between 1891 and 1945 to indicate that the design or trademark was legally protected.
