Set of Antique French Locksmith Engraved Plates from "Recueil De Planches, Sur Les Sciences, Les Arts libéraux, et les arts méchaniques : avec leur explication" or known as The Diderot Encyclopdie . These rare and exquisite plates date back to the 1700s and offer an unparalleled look at French architectural design and construction during the era. The Encyclopédie is most famous for representing the thought of the Enlightenment. According to Denis Diderot in the article "Encyclopédie", the Encyclopédie's aim was "to change the way people think" and for people to be able to inform themselves and to know things.
