Book titled "Illustrations of Surface Geology" by Edward Hitchcock, accepted for publication 1856 - most related to the surface geology of the Connecticut Valley in New England - note many plates, some colored, at the end of book. The binding in poor condition having wear and some looses, some loose pages, overall fair condition. Provenance: From the Thomas Rockwell collection. Tom was the son of the famous American illustrator, Norman Rockwell. He was a book collector and book seller residing in both Stockbridge Massachusetts and Lagrangeville NY. In Stockbridge, he opened a book and print store with his brother Peter.
