Item Description

This listing is for the Van Briggle bowl only; it is pictured with the vase to show you the two pieces available in this collection. Notice the conjoined "A's" on the bottom; this indicates the artists Artus and Anne Van Briggle. Because of the glaze streaks and residue, the dirty bottom, the conjoined A's and the Van Briggle written by hand in script, this piece is estimated to be late teens or early 1920's - most likely 1917-1920, as the markings changed in the early-to-mid 1920's. Starting in 1922, Van Briggle pottery included "U.S.A" on the bottom, as you can see if you look at the vase listing. See justartpottery.com for more information. In 2001, the family visited with a Van Briggle historian and learned that the bowl is pattern #510, and the color is mulberry. Value at that time was estimated to be $500-$600. This item is available for shipping through Ace Pack and Ship at 2049 Wadsworth Blvd in Lakewood (303) 424-6245. Auction Details & Seller Instructions

WHERE TO PICK UP:
Private Residence
Denver , Colorado 80219
(Winning Bidders Will Be Given Full Address VIA EMAIL)
Pick up: By Appointment Only
Note: This home has a very steep driveway, and many of the furniture items are downstairs on the basement level, so you may need to navigate a flight of stairs bringing items up and then a steep driveway taking them down to your vehicle.
For various reasons, auction has been extended by one week, as has the pickup day. The times are the same.
The new pickup date is Saturday, May 13th- all other conditions are the same.
If the new pickup day has created an inconvenience for you, and you are not able to pick up on that day, you may designate a representative.
Please let us know if you are sending someone in your place, be sure they bring their photo ID and a copy of the invoice. You may also reach out to us for an appointment time for an alternative pick up. Those will be on a designated weeknight. Winners will receive a link in their confirmation email to sign up for a 1 hour time slot appointment within the time window of 10:00-2:30. It is imperative that you choose an appointment time window and that you honor it. Arriving early will result in you having to wait for others who honored their appointment time to be served first. When you purchase furniture, please be aware that it is your responsibility to bring whatever it is required for that purchase - whether that is manpower, tie downs, dollies, packing material, and that that may include having to navigate stairs-- we do not have the manpower to assist you. We work in a variety of homes and settings and communities, and there may not be space to have everything by the front door. Many items are available for shipping; be sure to check before bidding and contact us if you're not sure. There are no refunds for items you purchased that were not available for shipping and you purchase them anyway. We are offering limited shipping as a courtesy for smaller items that are easy to transport to Ace Pack and Ship in Lakewood, Colorado.
