Roseville Pottery Company was an American art pottery manufacturer founded in Roseville, Ohio in 1890 by J.F. Weaver. George Young, a former Roseville salesman, became the company's secretary and general manager in 1892, and by 1896 he had a controlling interest. Roseville Pottery was one of the largest producers of American art pottery in the 19th and 20th centuries, along with Rookwood Pottery and Weller Pottery. The company began by making practical household items like flower pots, stoneware, umbrella stands, and cuspidors, but by 1900 they had introduced their first high-quality art pottery line, Roseville Rozane.
