RARE HISTORICAL STAFFORDSHIRE DEEP WELL PLATTER

Rare historical Staffordshire deep well platter entitled "Christainsburg Danish Settlement On the Gold Coast of Africa". Features American sailing vessel in foreground, sailors, other vessels in the background, buildings with Danish flag. Outside edge is decorated with exotic seashell depictions and foliate decor. Deep well platter is in good condition for its age and use. 18 1/2" long x 14 1/2" wide. No cracks but obvious crazing from age and wear marks to backside surface. Has impressed potter's mark. it appears to be Enoch Wood & Sons, circa 1818-1846. Front has some marks and wear from use but generally in excellent condition.
