WWII Military Medals from MILTON NISSON Jewish New Bedford
A staff sergeant with the 45th Thunderbird Infantry division, he was wounded by schrapnel while knocking out enemy machine gun fire that had pinned down members of his outfit (his Purple Heart award is here). He spent the next year in a hospital, having punctured his colon and bladder. In honor of his valor, the Army awarded him a Silver Star (included in this lot). The star medal is marked on the back with the name MILTON NISSON. All will come in the original boxes. Medals are fine, boxes have light to moderate wear.
