The Beat There Was 1905 - 1942 is the premier issue in the Conlon Collection Master Series of 8” by 10” card sets. The series features photography by Charles Martin Conlon, the greatest sports photographer of his time. The Sporting News acquired his work in 1945, and from the archive, Megacards created the Master Series. These sets were made in a limited quantity of 25,000 and this is set # 2,102. Photographs feature Babe Ruth, Rogers Hornsby, Pie Traynor, Tris Speaker, Honus Wagner, Mickey Cochrane, Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson and Lou Gehrig. The back of each photograph has the players statistics and their portrait photo.
