“Reclaiming Nude” painting on canvas by artist Robert Brackman , sight measuring
approximately 12” w x 8.5” tall. The frame measures approximately 19.5” w x 16” tall. 
Robert Brackman September 25, 1898 – July 16, 1980 was an
American artist and teacher, best known for large figural works, portraits, and still life’s.
He painted portraits of John D. Rockefeller Jr., Abby Aldrich Rockefeller, [6]  Charles
Lindbergh, and John Foster Dulles, as well as portraits commissioned by the United
States Air Force Academy and the State Department. [4]
He painted a portrait of actress Jennifer Jones for use as a prop in the 1948 film Portrait
of Jennie, where it represents a portrait painted by the character of Eben Adams.
Brackman was among the country’s most prominent portraitists, and he received numerous awards for his figure paintings and still life’s. He studied at the Francisco Ferrer School in New York with ROBERT HENRI and GEORGE BELLOWS and then at the school of the National Academy of Design with LEON KROLL and Ivan Olinsky.
