Relic likely obtained from a church in Senlis, France. Possibly part of a larger grouping. Sculpted from wood and painted, depicts three figures. Measures 16 inches tall, 9 inches wide, with a base measurement of 8-1/2 in length and 4-3/8 inches deep. Weighs 6 lb. Provenance provided: Carved wooden figures. Marked ‘Senlis’. Ancient- probably Medieval. Belonged to Chester Coleman Hayes. He called them ‘lay figures.’. Paint has begun to ‘shed’ Reason is unknown."
