Rare, Hand Painted, Reverse on Glass of the famous 17th C. image/map of our solar system, 'Sceno Syste Coper Graphia Matis Nicani', after Andreas Cellarius (1596-1665) who created the image for his 1660, Harmonia Macrocosmica. Stunning, Deep and Rich color palette used. This piece might date from before the Mid 20th C. and is framed to enhance its warmth.
2" Wide, Gently angled, Natural wood stained scoop moulding has an angled, gold wood, inner lip, with glass (of course!). Frame is in Good to Very Good Vintage condition.
Image opening measures 24 1/2 x 27 1/2 and is in Very Good Vintage/Antique condition.
Outside of frame measures 28 x 32.
