Original Artists Mel Fowler? Woodblock - Not A Print - Abstract Streetscape With Dog

This is the actual wood block, that the artist - we believe it to be New York artist Mel Fowler (1921-1987), used to created limited edition woodblocks or woodcuts from (pear wood is most often used). This block has been inked so that all that is black, would show up on paper, once pressed into it. A wire was attached to make this piece of artmaking into a wall hanging piece of art. We believe there is a howling dog, at right, and trees and a park, at left.
It measures 24" Tall and 15" Wide, at the top, while 17" Wide, at the bottom.
