Antique Historic Hand Colored Engraving On Vellum Parchment Map Ancient & New Rome, 1695 Ioanne Baptista Falda

"Novissima et Accuratissima Romae Veteris et Novae Tabula Topographica Delineatore Ionne Baptista Falda" - translated from Latin - "The Latest and Most Accurate Topographic Map of Ancient and New Rome by Ioanne Baptista Falda". This fine map of Rome is based on Falda's influential 12-sheet wall map, published in 1676. It provides remarkable detail down to the streets, churches, houses, gardens, piazzas, bridges and gates with the Vatican appearing in the immediate foreground. The legends flanking the map contain a key to 473 locations. 18/19th Century, Hand colored engraving on vellum (parchment made from calf skin) and Made in Italy (likely published there).
It is in Good to Very Good Antique condition w/ some buckling, at top.
1 3/4" Wide, Flat Burlwood finish, wood moulding with a mat is included. Mat is stained/damaged.
Image (mat) opening measures 18 1/4 x 22 1/2.
Outside of frame measures 27 x 33 1/2. Frame is in Good Vintage condition with some scuffs.
