1869 Artist Initialed Original Antique Oil On Canvas Figural Children At Play Framed

American/English Artist Initialed, CWB, and Dated, 1869, this Rich, Figural - Children at Play - in Landscape. It is initialed and dated on lower right. It is an Original Oil on Canvas and depicts three young children fishing. The eldest boy, at left, holds a rod over a small stream as he tries to quiet his precocious little sister (quiet fishing is more successful). The middle child, a boy in a red cap, kneels over in search of bait (worms). Lovely composition with a still fresh color palette (his blue bow/ribbon is rich and so warm), especially for a 150 year old antique!
3" Wide, Antique/Vintage Ornately Carved, Antiqued Gold moulding, with Pierced corners and mid-rail decorations.
Canvas measures 16 X 20 and is in Very Good Antique condition w/ craquelure (network of fine cracks in the paint).
Outside measure of the frame is approx. 22 X 26 and is in Good Vintage condition w/ minor signs of handling - scuffs and minor finish loss. The frame may be original but it is likely later.
