African dining room furniture ordered while in Elizabethville (Lumbashi) Congo May 20, 1966. Furniture built by Berquin Kanuto, B.P. 4222, Lumbashi, Rep. of Congo. Made of Lusanga wood and rubber with walnut oil. Furniture arrived in Birmingham, Michigan June 7, 1967.
Very unique piece with masterful attention to detail. 8 sturdy hand carved chairs. There are some scratches from general use, please refer to photos. Table is 34.24" wide, 86" long, and 31" tall. Chairs are 43.75" tall, 15.5" wide (seat at widest point), seat is 17.75" deep. Widest point of chair is 18.5" deep with small carved head details.
