*RARE* FINE SHERRY WINE & SPIRITS BROCHURE CATALOG FEATURING PICASSO ILLUSTRATIONS FROM 1962

An incredible folio of linocuts, (linoleum block prints) by Pablo Picasso, used here to illustrate a sherry wine catalog from 1962.

FINE ART, WINE & SPIRITS - SHERRY, WINE & SPIRITS CO., INC. [CATALOG, ILLUSTRATED WITH LINOLEUM-BLOCK PRINTS BY PICASSO]. New York: Sherry, Wine & Spirits Co., Inc., [1962]. Oblong quarto, 11-3/4 inches high by 14 inches wide. Softcover, bound in stapled color pictorial wraps with color linocuts by Picasso illustrating the front and back covers. The covers are soiled and lightly stained with creases to the corners and a tiny tear to the top edge of the front cover. 24 pages, including the covers, illustrated with a total of 8 color linoleum-block cut plates by Pablo Picasso (including those illustrating the covers). The catalog is additionally illustrated with textual vignettes and pictorial headpieces. The corners of the pages are lightly creased and the top corner of the first page is darkened. Very good.A catalog of sherry wine and spirits offered by the company with a promotional first page titled "Amazing Facts about Sherry, Wine & Spirits" and an essay by Dr. Alfred Frankfurter on "The Graphics of Pablo Picasso". In his essay, Frankfurther links the world of liquors and wines with that of Picasso and describes the artist's process in creating linoleum-block cuts to which the artist had turned to late in his life.

There are a total of eight (8) different prints from the brochure that will all be listed separately.Measurements: Approx. 14.5" wide × 11.75" tall.Condition: Good vintage condition. Paper shows minor traces of wear from storage and handling
