We are told the 6 speed can be installed in this car with minimum alterations however that is misleading. It requires a number of additional parts and alterations.
Plan A
Sell the 6 speed to fund the cost of rebuilding the 5 speed.
Buy the cooper for $1,000. Rebuild the 5 speed with proceeds from selling 6 speed. Use the profit to replace trim piece on Mini and still have a little money for other things.
Keep it. It's a nice car.
Or resell the mini cooper for $3,500 to $5,000
Enjoy the $2,000 profit.
Plan B
Buy the car
Pay $500 to have transmission rebuilt
Pay $300 to install trans
You now have a great car
Put the other transmission for sale on eBay and Facebook. At some point it will sell and pocket money
Plan C
You or a friend is an mechanic.
