This delicate watercolor depicts the mosque in the picturesque town of Chefchaouen in Morocco’s Rif Mountains. The hilly town has become a favorite tourist destination thanks to its blue walls and cobbled streets reminiscent of an Andalusian town. It is today a favorite of contemporary visitors. This watercolor dates from the early 1970s, signed by local artist Rahmani in French and Arabic, and purchased in Chefchaouen. Framed and matted.
