Edward B. Beattie Auctioneers has been involved in the Antiques and Auction business since the 1970's. Holding licensure in two states Massachusetts #470 and New Hampshire #6096. An emphasis on bringing to market fresh goods from homes in the Boston Metro area and more directly from the North Shore of Massachusetts to Southern Maine. We adveritse in multiple newspapers which allows us access to such high quality finds. We operate in New Hampshire which allows bidders to pay no tax on their items. INCREDIBLY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! Be aware! If i could include the screenshots of the communication between the auction and i, i 100% would! Quite literally a horrible experience and poor treatment! I was sent a faulty/damaged item - the condition in which I received the painting was NOT included or stated under the product's description, nor were the images accurate. I have been quite lucky with all the auction houses and agents so far, if a problem arises they handle it quickly and effectively, but this company was nothing but rude and avoidant. I have been trying to return the painting back to you and weeks have gone back before i heard back from them. I will absolutely not be participating in any of their sales and i would be careful if you choose to. Liars and incredibly rude/unprofessional.

This Client bought a painting and then declared it damaged. The problem did not originate with either the auction house or the shipper. The frame which is in dispute was pictured both before it was mailed and at the auction confirm the condition. The client was told on several instances, both on the phone and in text, to return it and we would refund the money. This is simple but the client never seemed to get the item to a shipper for return. One excuse after another. I will not return any money without the item for fear of fraud My offer still stands...GET THE ITEM TO A SHIPPER REURN IT TO ME AND I WILL PAY FOR THE SHIPPING AND RETURN THEIR PURCHASE PRICE PERIOD. ANYTHING LESS THAN THAT SOLUTION WILL NOT BE HONORED.

I was a little worried as the seller was not super responsive at first about arranging alternative pickup (i'm sure he was busy prepping for pickup and I did not spend much), but he ended up being really great (he went out of his way to deliver), and I would definitely buy things from him again. I was worried for nothing. Products were as advertised. Great sale.
