Original Chinese Peasant Folk Art Painting By Huxian County Artist, Wang Mancang

Original framed painting by Chinese artist, Wang Mancang, from HUXIAN county, China, dated June 1993. The label on the back says that the painting is signed on the back of the framed piece. Also attached to the back is a list of Chinese peasant paintings from the China Institute in America. This painting was included on the list. The document says that these original paintings were on display and for sale at China Institute from June 1st to 10th, 1993 and are the work of Chinese peasants, who still till the land in rural HUXIAN county designated by China’s ministry of culture as “the home of modern Chinese folk art”. The medium is a kind of tempura on rice paper.

The piece measures 36 inches wide by 28 inches high by one and a quarter inch deep
