Matisse and Raoul Dufy: Two offset lithographs from a folio.
Matisse was known for both his use of colour and his fluid and original draughtsmanship. He was a draughtsman, printmaker, and sculptor, but is known primarily as a painter. Matisse is accepted as one of the most influential modern painters and crowned as the leader of Fauvism, a 20th century movement that favored a painterly style and bold, expressive use of color over the representational or naturalistic values of the Impressionist movement before.
15 x 11 inches with text pages.
Notes: Very good condition; the paper the prints are mounted to show some toning.
