Julius John Lankes (1884-1960) was an American artist, best known for his woodcut prints and long-time collaboration with poet Robert Frost. Born in Buffalo, NY, Lankes studied at the Buffalo Art Students League and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Over his career, he produced over 1,300 woodcuts and illustrated works by authors such as Sherwood Anderson and Beatrix Potter. He also wrote A Woodcut Manual and worked as a technical illustrator during WWII. His works are in collections including the Library of Congress and the Museum of Modern Art.

Notes: Good condition, paper is very toned; age spots throughout.
