Both were trailblazers when they immigrated ...view moreto the US: June was went to the only medical school that took female students pre-WWII and Charles Kito was one of the first Japanese to graduate from University of Chicago and became a corporate executive and a journalist. They raised three children in their home in Woodside, Queens.
Each year the family went back to Japan for an extended visit, picking up beautiful items to bring home. Most of these items were stored and never used. Collections include vintage woodblock prints in archival frames, fine Japanese china, lacquer boxes, lighters, typewriters, artisan ceramics and more. The jewelry includes 18K gold, sterling silver, platinum, pearls, jade and more. Also find the collections of their children including vintage comic books, Mad Magazines and 45s.
