The year was 1942.

As World War II was heating up, a religious revival was beginning to unfold stateside. For the first time since the start of the Great Depression, membership at American churches was soaring and thousands of new congregations were being formed.

One such congregation was the Kingsbridge Evangelical Lutheran Church, in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx. Over the next 20 years, the diminutive structure struggled to find space for a congregation that had swelled to more than 120 members. Frequently, the church was forced to hold two services just to meet the overwhelming demand.

But the resurgence didn't last, and now, nearly eighty years later, the little church is in great disrepair and scheduled for demolition.

The sale pickup will be held rain, shine, snow, hail and/or plagues of locusts.

This is an urban location and there is no parking on site, however there is metered parking around the neighborhood.
