Charles and Elaine Evans were native Brooklynites who lived in the Midwood neighborhood most of their adult lives. Charles - a philosophy professor at City College of New York - died in 2006, and Elaine - ...view morea special education high school teacher - died in June of this year. While proud of their Brooklyn roots, the couple also spent six decades summering with their three children in East Hampton. When not teaching or raising a family, this vibrant couple spent much of their time, whether in Brooklyn, the East End of Long Island, or traveling the world, collecting beautiful furniture, art, pottery, books, and other charming items.

Highlights include original art by Marc Chagal, Rae Sloan Bredin, Joaquin Vaquero Turcios, Maria Luther, Carol Buettner Rowan, Charles James Gerhart, Mizuno Toshikata and more. Brands include Stickley, Cushman Colonial, Tibro, Rockwood, McCoy, Roseville, Van Briggle, Cuisinart, Calphalon and much more.

An appraisal of the Evans' furniture and art collection was conducted by Charles Newman Antiques LLC NY in 2010. You will see these appraisals within the auction catalog. Auction winners can request a copy of the appraisal report.
