About the Sale
Explore the treasures from the beautiful home of local artist, John Wheat, located on the Gillette Ridge golf course in Bloomfield CT. You will find a beautiful collection of quality furniture, including a STUNNING 10 ...view morefoot long English farmhouse table that was custom made in England especially for John and his wife Karen. One day they were exploring antique stores in Woodbury CT and walked into Mill House antiques. They saw a table they fell in love with, but it had an oval top and they really wanted a traditional English extendable table. They were able to have the same table custom made in England by the same maker, but with a traditional English style long rectangular extendable top. It is one of the most beautiful tables we have ever seen. The beauty of it, is that it can be paired with ladder back country style chairs or fancier chairs! It is very versatile and even more impressive in person.
There are a few original oil paintings from John Wheat included in this sale, among other pieces from other artists. You will also find some nice antique pieces such as a gorgeous chest and secretary desk dating back to the 1800s. There is beautiful glassware, decor, sterling silver pieces and more.
