An exceptional example of reverse paint on glass in this painting of Heidelberg Castle in Germany with Mother of Pearl inlays at points in the painting, done in the late Victorian to early 20th century style, but with a nice oak frame with a mid century feel. Heidelberg Castle got its beginnings in the middle ages with construction starting around 1214 AD, near the time of the demise of the Knights Templar in adjoining France. Various stages of additions & reconstructions right up through the 19th century. A landmark of the city of Heidelberg Germany today. Measures 19.5" x 23.5" in size, beautiful detail & colors a very nice piece in great shape too!
