This fantastic English creamware teapot hearkens back to the 18th century [circa 1780 . . .250 years old], when items that suffered damage were not simply thrown away. Fine porcelain was not easily accessible in most rural areas, and even if accessible were quite costly. The original owner created a make-a-do, affixing a period hand-hammered iron handle to the existing teapot, in order to extend its' life and usage. It has survived in this state for several centuries, and is a testament to the ingenuity of the period common folk. Please refer to the photos for further details. A common household object transformed into something far more interesting.
Consistent with age and use.
