A Vintage Cheval wood mirror with turned posts and a bracketed frame. The top and bottom having open serpentine arches as a design element.
The cheval mirror is a full-length tall dressing mirror that suspended between two pillars, usually joined by horizontal bars immediately above and below the mirror and resting on two pairs of long feet. These mirrors were invented in France during the 18th century. They got the name due to four feet at the base, which resembles the horse. In France, cheval means “Horse.”
