Vintage USSR Decorative Tile Russian Samovar Tea Drinkers Russian Proverb чай пить не дрова рубить. Beautiful Hand Painted Tile of a man and woman sitting with a savamore. The tile says "чай пить не дрова рубить" (chai pit' ne drova rubit'). The exact translation is "Drink tea; don't chop wood". The idea here is that while both drinking very hot tea and chopping wood can make you sweat, it is far more pleasant to drink tea. Some light mark on the frame. consistent with age and use.
