Vintage & elegant pressed blue glass & double - handled Spooner. 4 3/8" Tall with a lighter top beaded thin edging. The sides area adorned with large flower blossoms, long flowing leaves & cattails. The two handles have an interesting ridged pattern (almost like tree branches? - or just for a better grip?).
A spooner is a spoon holder popular with Victorian society. Prominently displayed, spooners were a show of hospitality and a status symbol for the middle class indicating a rise in affluence and acquired wealth. Antique spooners were popular in the 1880's and later era. This spooner is not that old as it does have seams from its production process.
