VINTAGE ART DECO DIEHL "RIBONNAIRE" DESK FAN. Diehl Manufacturing Company, electrical division of The Singer Manufacturing Company, Elizabeth, NJ, circa 1930's/1940's. Designed by Swedish designer Frederik Ljungström and american artist Wilfred O. Langille. Tested and operates. Circulates air well, with power. Chocolate brown Bakelite, original 3 crimson grosgrain ribbons. 10 1/2" high x 4 1/4 wide x 7 1/4" deep. OFF/HIGH/LOW dial on top of base. Fan stem can be moved forward and backward for different settings. At the base where the fan stem rotates forward/backward there is a crack across the stem and a chip in the bakelite, but it does not seem to impact moving the fan forward and back. Manufacturer's instructions label on bottom of base. In vintage condition showing normal signs of wear consistent with age and use (crack and chip mentioned). Please see photos.
