VINTAGE MYOTT FINLANDIA CHINA EARTHENWARE TEA CUPS AND SAUCERS STAFFORDSHIRE, ENGLAND. Variation of Danish pattern design. Stamped "Myott FINLANDIA Fine Staffordshire Ware England 1982". Traditional British prints, traditional Staffordshire Earthenware with UK clays and European glazes, made by Churchill in Stoke-On-Trent England Underglaze decoration, each piece is printed under a superior scratch resistant glaze creating a protective layer over the design.
Copper Engraved Printing to ensure crisp and clear patterns, one of the oldest ceramic printing methods, each intricate copper plate takes up to six months to hand engrave by a skilled craftsman. Fully glazed base prevents scratching to tabletops and surfaces. With its beautiful symmetry and traditional designs, Finlandia is one of Churchill’s most finely detailed collections. The delicate flowers and leaves encapsulate the crisp and bright florals of Finland’s mountains. (11) teacups and (16) saucers included in lot, cobalt blue and white design. In good vintage condition showing normal signs of wear consistent with age and use. Please see photos. Teacup: 3 1/2" diameter and 2 6/8" tall, saucer: 5 6/8" diameter.
