Item Description

A signed antique silkscreen print titled “AWAKENING” by Bessie Pease Gutmann. She was an American artist and illustrator, most noted for her paintings of infants, and young children. The babies and children in her prints have such detail and subtle coloring they look like they could speak. During the early 1900s, she was one of the better-known magazine and book illustrators in the United States.

This print entitled "Awakening" was first published in 1918 and is one of the earliest prints done. This beautiful silkscreen has a marking on the lower right corner: 664 Copyright by Gutmann & Gutmann N.Y. and it is signed on the left side.
Please look closely at photos as they are also part of the descriptions.
The print is in a beautiful antique frame and the size, including the frame, is about 15.25" wide by 13" tall.
