THAT IS WHY IT STILL WORKS. . . .THE BATTERIES WERE REMOVED IN 1986. . . . . .THE ISSUE IS THE BATTERIES (due to age) ALWAYS LEAKED AND DESTROYED THE WATCH COMPARTMENTS . . . . this one had the batteries removed 38 years ago . . . . . I HAD MY WATCH GUY PUT TWO NEW BATTERIES IN AND IT CAME RIGHT TO LIFE AFTER 38 YEARS . . . some light wear and dings and scrapes . .original bracelet looks complete. . . .Hello and Welcome . . . .today we are in Stamford,CT at a waterfront estate of a former fashion executive . . . this is a BEAUTIFUL collection of antiques, furniture, artwork, clocks and decorative accessories . . . there are many wonderful items in this house. be sure to see everything . . . . . . . . . .
