Very Fine Authentic ANCIENT ROMAN ELAGABALUS SOLID SILVER DENARIUS- 218-222 A.D.

Another superb example of an ancient Roman denarius, solid silver with crisp details throughout. It is a VERY rare coin, only minted for 4 years, between 218 and 222 A.D. On the front, a draped right-facing bust of the emperor laureate ELAGABALUS, with the Latin slogan IMP CAES M AVR ANTONINVS AVG. On the reverse, the god MARS in full stride, a spear in his right hand and scroll in his extended left. It is a representation of the supreme power of Elagabalus, as ruler of the Roman empire. It is a stunning and SCARCE coin!
