Purinton Slip Ware Apple Pattern 16 piece set of Hand-painted tableware.
Bernard Purinton founded Purinton Pottery in Wellsville, Ohio, in 1936. The company produced dinnerware and special-order pieces. Bernard’s brother-in-law, William H. Blair, was a principal designer for the company and is responsible for the Apple themed dinnerware, its best selling pottery.
This pattern was produced from 1936 through 1958, when the Purinton Pottery Factory was closed.
This dinnerware is a wonderful example of hand-painted American pottery and is increasingly harder to find.
