Three Vintage Hitchcock Chairs, Made Expressly For G. Fox & Co.

A set of three matching Hitchcock chairs, made expressly for G. Fox & Co. department stores, mid-20th century. The set includes two arm chairs and one side chair, all in black with gilt stenciling. Condition varies and is consistent with age and use: Minor finish loss, wear to arm rests, wear to front stretcher. On the side chair, there is residue from a grip strip that must have been used to keep a seat pad in place. Arm chairs, approx. 33.5" tall to top of seat back, 23" wide arm-to-arm, 18" seat height. Side chair, approx. 33.5" tall to top of seat back, 16" wide, 18" seat height.
