Item Description

The World of Mathematics, by James R. Newman, 1956.
Approx. 8.75" X 5.75", second printing. Four volumes (complete), with a charming indicator for each
volume number in sigma notation (with the index of summation being 1 to 4, depending on the volume,
with an infinite last value indicator). The title page summarizes the work as follows: "A small library
of the literature of mathematics from A'h-mosé the Scribe to Albert Einstein, presented with commentaries
and notes by James R. Newman." Simon and Schuster, cloth binding. Light water stain on first volume's cover,
towards spine and bottom.
