Taos 1919 Initialed Pastel On Paper Desert Scene Sketch Possibly Agnes Pelton

This is a great piece of artwork. The pastel is loosely done and evokes thoughts of a plein air sketch session. There is damage to the left side - some smudging of the pastel where it may have gotten wet? Initialed "A.P." and dated "1919" lower right. Agnes Pelton was sketching in Taos at this time as other of her signed and dated sketches from the the same year have been sold. Framed in a thin period frame.

Notes: As noted, the left side of the image has some smudging and may have been water damaged at some point.

Consistent with age and use.
