Item Description

A similar example is in the British Museum of Natural History! We are offering a superb vintage 1930s MAPOTO NDEBELE [South African tribe] wedding apron, fully beaded with 2 dancing figures sewn into the upper field, representing a newly wedded couple. This is the woman's apron, with five beaded fingers along the skirt. It is a true AFRICAN artifact, wonderfully presented. Several missing beads, but it is in amazing condition for age. Not a tourist item, but tribally used. Measures 23" by 29" in shadow box.
