Stunning Antique ENGLISH STERLING SILVER Pierced PEA SPOON With Figural GRIFFIN Handle

Superb antique English STERLING SILVER pierced PEA SPOON with a figural winged griffin or beast handle. Highly desirable form, and from the quality likely from a high-end maker. It is fully hallmarked, including the left-facing lion [lion passant] for silver purity of at least 92.5%, as well as an upper case Q date letter for 1891 [over 130 years old]. It is quite ornately decorated, from the gold-gilt pierced bowl in scallop form to the barley twist handle base that terminates in the griffin with wings spread. It has good weight- 1.57 troy ounces or 49 grams.
