This is a black and white photo reproduction, miniature, of one of Grimshaw's paintings.

He was well known for his photorealistic paintings of evenings in the city, and is often considered one of the best of British Victorian painters.

The original painting seems to have been done in 1893, based on the signature in the lower-left hand corner of this reproduction
