This beautiful lead crystal eagle sells for $1,000 on the Steuben glass official website. They describe the eagle as being "the embodiment of courage, splendor, and freedom. The proud bearing of this example was first done as a model, carved with care and skill by the designer."
It is signed Steuben on the base. It was designed by David Pollard in 1975.
Solid glass, this piece is quite heavy. It is 2.75 lbs.
Notes: Please view the numerous, detailed photos for an accurate appraisal of this item's condition. This previously owned vintage piece has some damage. The base of the eagle's left wing has chipping along the edge. It is a triangular shaped chip about 3/8" by 3/8" at their widest measurements. Next to this chip is a 1/8" by 1/16" chip. I have taken photos of this area. There are scratches on the base and flat underside of the eagle.
Fair
The eagle measures 4.5 in height, and the body is 5.5 from the tip of his beak to his longest point."
