This grouping is a nice example of candlewicking, a classic embroidery technique, which has a distinct style that involves stitching primarily with Colonial knot stitches. It gets its name from the nature of the soft spun cotton thread, which was braided then used to form the wick for candles. In colonial America and during westward expansion other types of thread was not plentiful. These pillows range in size from 12" to 16" across. They appear to have no rips or tears, however do have some light staining, all have been lightly laundered and are ready to go.
Notes: Appears to have rips or tears. Some staining maybe present.
Consistent with age and use.
