Item Description

A fantastic early advertising poster, for DDL DANISH AIRLINES/VIKING LINES, for an air freight service they provided circa 1947. It is a striking piece of advertising, with a cargo plane taking off on the upper third, a reassuring hand in 'thumbs up' gesture in the center [for reliability], and the ariline information on the bottom. It is not perfect, but in VERY good condition for age. Condition issues are mild- several tape residue marks to several corners [as viewed in frame], scant color breaks along the border from age and handling, and light water soiling to the top-lefthand corner. The paper is properly toned from age, and the color is still bright but mellowed out, commensurate with being well handled and cared for, but displayed. Considering it is 75+ years old, it looks great. Measures 24.5" by 39" without frame [frame is later, still vintage]. One of 2 versions produced during the period, both RARELY seen. There are NO alternate pick up dates for this auction, so please plan accordingly.
If unable to make it, have someone come in your place with a *signed copy of your invoice.*
If unable to commit to the set pick up date & timeframe, do not bid.
