Item Description

This is a fabulous antique terracotta vessel, possibly from the late 19th Century. These tapered urn shaped jars were used for storing olives / oil, with each country having their own version. They were mostly found in Spain and the Mediterranean countries of Italy and the Biot region of France. The overall condition shows heavy wear, consistent with age, and it has a sticky oil residue. It's a versatile, decorative piece for the garden, by the fireplace or just displayed as a statement piece in your home.
