A solid silver Macedonian drachm from the reign of ALEXANDER the GREAT, dating between 336 and 323 B.C. On the front features Heracles wearing the Nemean lion's mane as a headdress. On the verso, a seated Zeus on throne. Alexander the Great fashioned himself in the image of Heracles, so his image was used on the coin. It shows well, with discernible details, especially for a 2350-year-old coin.
