Rare 68 Carat Cairngorm Citrine Set In A Huge Engraved Antique Silver Brooch Kilt Pin

Dating from the Victorian era, c.1850, this impressive old brooch features a high set, oversized (68 carat) beautifully faceted round Scottish Cairngorm citrine centre stone with a honey color and measuring over 25mm across. It is high set (11/8 over the top of the pin) and held firmly in place by 8 strong silver prongs. The engraved patinated silver disk is substantial; about a millimeter thick and built to survive, as it has! Made from unmarked (tested) high grade silver, it is visually spectacular and, once again, enormous! Total weight 68g. This is the largest example of this type of brooch we have ever come across.
