A beautifully painted portrait of Louisa Livingstone, aged 22, daughter of James Duane Livingstone, from the notable Livingstone lineage connected to the Earls of Linlithgow, Scotland. Dated 1848, this historical piece is encased in an ornately carved frame with intricate detailing. The reverse side of the frame bears an inscription indicating her marriage to Oliver H. Jones in the same year. This portrait exudes Victorian charm and captures the grace and poise of Louisa in a side profile.
Notes: The frame shows significant wear, with chipping, paint loss, and noticeable aging. The back of the frame has inscriptions, which provide valuable historical context but also reveal wear and potential repairs over time. Despite the wear, the painting itself appears well-preserved, though there may be minor age-related signs.
Consistent with age and use.
